Bug spray that contains DEET will destroy most watches and plastics.

I had a Nixon watch years ago that I had just bought. I used some OFF bug spray (with DEET) on my arms, and got some on my watch. Not only did it destroy the nice rubbery plastic of the watch, but the crystal was even etched cloudy by the DEET.

DEET dissolves plastics and even glass. Don't get it on anything other than your skin. No warning was on the package.

It also messes with fabrics, probably polyesters and nylons id guess. Ive used deet, but i really dont like it. Gimme the permethrin every time.

If you have hazy / cloudy headlights, use some on your headlights and wipe with a sock or shop cloth. Cheap fix and fun use of the chemical melting priperties.

Yes I've heard that too. Should work better than the kits they sell at Pep Boys and Auto Zone. Put some DEET on there and get that yellow layer off.

I have used it with no ill effects. I love the outdoors and have used it for years.
