Happened to me. I beat my dad at chess at as a preteen. Not saying im smart and he never let me win all the other times we've played. I remember thinking that it was not a good thing. I wasn't even happy, I had an empty feeling. We never played chess again after that.

As a father of two boys, when my 5 yr. old told me that he knows everything now, doesn’t need my help. I was amused and let it ride. I continued to teach him and set a good example. It was fun when I would show him something his little brain could never have imagined. His eyes would light up when he realized I had just shown him something new. Single mothers don’t do that, they just yell at them and tell them to be nice to girls.
