Granted there will be some bad situations that arise, but generally it was a good move. In a common worst case scenario there were peices of land people owned that were totally undevelopable because of a tree in the middle of the property.

This is classic blockbusting: some jew builds a Section 8 and before you know it all the neighbors move out and sell at a loss because nobody wants to live there for the same reason they didn't. Said jew scoops up properties, neglects or somehow induces Section 8 tenants to leave, and then proceeds to turn the property into a high-scale development. Much profit and hand-rubbing ensues.
It does seem odd they would try to develop an area for Section 8 that doesn't have the resources to support it (public transportation, low-cost grocery stores, welfare services, public schools, and the like), judging by your description.

In the last few years, a bunch of them bough these brand new “zero emission/ green” houses built in Madeira Beach immediately next to the last working boat yard on the beaches and one of the last seafood processing houses. They immediately started petitioning the city to close down the businesses because of the boat traffic, the crazy assed fishermen, and the smell of seafood. It was there long, long before them and it was no secret they were moving 100ft away from it. THEY DONT GIVE A FUCK JOHNS PASS HAS BEEN A FISHING VILLAGE FOR THE LAST 80+ years. The OG locals thankfully are making the carpetbaggers feel extremely welcome and are having none of it, but it’s only a matter of time before they get their way and shut down and ready the history. They have already taken over a couple seats on the commission.

My home abuts a bucolic country lane on public land (wetlands) and I'm embroiled in a dispute with the local Council that wants to remove some of the last mature trees there on the basis they are "fire impacted" (which is rubbish because I helped put out the last bushfire there). My suspicion is the Council is cutting down trees to give firewood to the disadvantaged.
