Maybe, except physicists are pretty decided against free will. Intuitively, events are either 1) deterministic or 2) random. Neither of these implies choice. So though their thinking may be powerful, without some escape hatch from the light of nature it most certainly isn't free.
Events being random is not the same as your reaction to said events being random. I've never heard a man of science claim choice doesn't exist without going to the level of "well your brain is just chemical reactions and electrical signals so you're programmed to act the way you did..."
