While doing things around town today, almost every single person I had any form of interaction with wished me a Happy Fathers' Day.

First time this has ever happened to me. Didn't happen last year, or the year before... or any other year I've been alive and old enough to be a Father.

I suppose I'm glad that people actually remember and want to wish Fathers well.

Good thing? Or some weirdness...?

I wished all the security guards at the marina a happy father's day. [they're all africans or jamaicans or something. It was reasonably lulzy. They were good sports, surprisingly.]

Young male cashier at grocery store wished the customer ahead of me and me a happy fathers day. Cashier, customer and I are minority caucasian. He also didn't charge my wife a 10c bag fee which is highly unusual for this area.

It think it’s a realization. People are waking up and realizing how much their father did for them. No matter what they (msm) say, dad was important. The media is lying. The ones who grew up without their fathers, no matter the reason, have daddy issues. Un-mentored sons and out of control daughters. It’s a social tragedy. Now they all have tattoos and blame their fathers (because mom says it’s all his fault.)

It's because the media is trying to balance Father's day with "Juneteenth" because they fell on the same day. They didn't want one to overshadow the others, so some idiots who watch the media responded to the Father's Day propaganda, while others responded to the "slavery is bad, m'kay?" propaganda.

OP's walking around town in a World's Greatest Dad t-shirt and matching trucker hat wondering why people are being nice.

Relax OP, I read your response to pneri.

The point that I am trying to make is that it doesn't matter if I am or am not. These strangers didn't have any point of reference. There were no children around me at any of these times. At least half of them were some random guy/Man or girl/Woman sitting on a bench whom I smiled at or said a polite hello to. And a healthy mix of types or people and locations.

My vehicle does not have any cutesy stickers on it. What I was doing at each of these locations throughout the day should not have indicated my state of Fatherhood in any regard. I wasn't always the person starting the interaction. Sometimes I was alone in these interactions. Other times I was with someone, or someones. But never any children, or people of an age younger than me that would assume a Father/Son/Daughter scenario.

Nothing really different than last year, or the year before that, or before that... etc. Just a normal day of doing Town Business™.

Seems like it was the White way to avoid the Juneteenth nigger appreciation day.

Nigger? Happy Juneteenth.
Human? Happy Father's Day.
