Yeah, a dodge neon doesn’t count.

Damn. Nothing like a Chevy big block from the early 70's. I run a little six banger road fucker. Better than nocar.

I had my grandfather's 1970 Ford Maverick for ages, until my brother kind of needed it more than I did in the late 90s. And I was gonna say 'you know how loans to brothers go...', but I don't know if it's a thing, or if all brothers are like mine at all, or if you even have brothers. But he wore the poor thing clean out. It was cherry when grandpops gave it to me, and I took pretty good care of it, although I knew there was a weird vacuum leak somewhere. Turns out it was a crack in the intake manifold itself [which is part of the head in that car], and the crack got worse over time with the zillions of additional miles he put on the thing commuting in it every day for like another decade or so. He also totally wore out the rear end bearings, and probably the differential itself. So it sat for a few years until some cop friend of my mom asked her about it, so I said he could have it. Not a chevy - but then our family has never been that into GM cars for whatever reason. As a mechanic, GMs were great to work on in my experiences, but even in the boss's shop it was mostly Fords, and I got all the gross noob jobs: oil changes and basic tune ups - none of the glorious stuff. But ya gotta start somewhere. Pity that 90s recession put that shop out of business or I'd probably still be a mechanic. Bla bla, here I am being a chick and talking about me me me!

But yeah, I miss those old iron ingot engines too. I've come to really appreciate the aluminium ingot engines in Benzes, though - up to Y2k or so at least. Particularly their diesels... although I must admit, their v6 petrol motors are quite fine as well from all I've seen.

I want to find a place where I can survive on the streets riding a motorcycle again.

I've got three brothers and I know damn well there's no such thing as a loan between us. I let my youngest brother "borrow" my s-10 back in the 90's. For all I know it's still in the impound lot, didn't care to have it back after his DUI manslaughter.

I've always wanted a motorcycle, but I'm going to wait until I'm old enough to die.
