Please explain talk.lol and voat.xyz

I was told talk.lol and voat.xyz is the same site. How is this possible if there are two different names and two different addresses?

System started the site as Voat.xyz. However as the site grew, he became concerned because he didn’t have permission to use the Voat name. Since no one actually knows who owns the Voat IP, he decided to change the site to talk.lol.

There is an option to run a Voat skin on older accounts.

No, he started it as talk.lol. Voat.xyz he started on the talk.lol domain, but with the talk site being "family friendly", and voat.xyz version allowing free speech. A user could look at talk.lol and get no NSFW "nigger" or porn memes that would be visible on voat.xyz. Quit talking out of your ass.

Well voat was first created cause system wanted to make this site as honeypot entrapment site, but since nobody wanted to plant any bombs, he created talk.lol, cause all we do is just talk. And he is laughing at us, cause we do nothing.
