"Aid" loans. Ukraine is having the crap kicked out of and laid heavy with debt.

There's three points to making them owe a crap ton.
1.) It'll make the US richer in the future as we'll have somebody else owe us money.
2.) It'll let us control their government. It's basically blackmail to hold the debt.
3.) The country that takes over another country takes on its debts according to strange old laws. Rather interesting bit of international law and history.
