My suspicion is that they all come from the same forges anyway; as they're pretty much identical.

Billet aluminum is the most common and recommended, but forged is decent and good for regular 5.56 builds. Most billet comes in two flavors: Modern cut and original slab side design- the latter is more common and cheaper. Downside is most billet lowers incorporate a built-in trigger guard while some forged do not. Not a big deal for me.

As for suppliers, 5DTactical and 80PercentArms are both good. The former makes the best jig available and has a decent deal on three pack slabsides right now. The latter is of the Wraith (80% Glock 17/19) fame, if that interests you. They both do pistol, 10, and 15 AR flavors.

Oh, and when building on a milled 80%, ALWAYS use antiwalk pins; regular pins will ream out the holes after heavy use.
