What this doesnt discuss is the effects of long term use which include early cognitive decline for ssris, and benzodiazepines, and many other “mood stabilizers” and antipsychotics.

There’s no good evidence that a depressed person on prosac for 30 years will fair better than a depressed person who tAkes nothing. People seem to feel better for a time and then the drug poops out, and the doctor will increase the dosage or switch the drug, but it appears there is a neurological penalty that is paid down the road.
