I received a mass email from the children's hospital reading it and there it was Finally they admitted you can give a baby 6 to 12 months cows milk. How long did this take? How many people doing stupid shit? How much stress for something we all kept saying you could do and these retarded mothers said noI can't because they said it's dangerous. Whatever.
Everyone really needs to stop taking medical advice from the people that make their living off of those who are sick! The children's hospital depends on sick children for their business! Healthy babies would put them out of business! They Want your children sick!
Also their system of officialism is a kind of non-think that can't handle changing circumstances at all. A very slight advantage to one practice in circumstances years past, assuming no corruption in the best case, leads to absolute dis-recommendation of one practice and absolute recommendation of another. As information is filtered through to the doctors and nurses if faces a lossy compression of a simple and absolute binary. When circumstances change doctors don't know the difference in outcomes between giving kids formula verse cows milk with any more detail than they know that calcium citrate is a better supplement to take than cyanide.
So when it comes to recommending non-human milk verse absolute malnutrition all they know is "cows milk is not recommended." They aren't really doctors or any kind of a thinking person at all. They are just academic conclusion relays.
Edit: This is why IBM's Watson actually could perform as well as a doctor. If your only goal is to regurgitate topical studies based on human provided context an AI can do that. Doctors have already been reduced to the general structure of a search engine. Read a lot of material, index it, filter it based on contextual queue, regurgitate. A computer can do that better already.
How many babies ended up in the hospital or malnourished because of parent's refusal to give their babies cow's milk? How many babies ended up in the hospital or malnourished because those who didn't need to use the limited formula supply helped empty the shelves leaving the product unavailable for those aged 1-6 months?
Also I hear that goat's milk is closer than cows milk. Cows milk is deficient in iron compared to infant needs, and a few other things, but maybe that's only applicable to the 1-6 month range. But it can't hurt to use a milk that is less deficient towards human needs for the whole age range if you can. Apparently that's goat's milk. But you can't beat the real thing, period.
I think they can. Lactase, the enzyme that digests lactose, is produced by all babies. As africans, asians, native americans age, they stop producing it. Caucasoids, especially ones from regions where they consumed large amounts of raw milk, have very late lactase persistence. But africans should be able to take milk until 5 or 10. There may be other reasons why they can’t take cow’s milk, but none that I’m aware of.
A lot of agricultural products are certainly correlated to the price of diesel/gas. Diesel itself is one of the main inputs, and fertilizer derived from petroleum products is another biggie. (You have to feed the cows something, which is typically grown with fertilizer and sown/harvested using tractors)
I know I was laughing when all of a sudden milk prices jumped to 2 something because everyone was all wth. Phht I've been paying 5 dollars a gallon for awhile now.
My mom told me today that she fed her first four children cow's milk without any issues. She hadn't even heard of formula until 10 years later when her doctor recommended it for her new child. (Oh, and she didn't start using disposable diapers until then either. )
