Masks are a big part of it but there a other sources. All the greenies wanting "bio-degradable" plastics are partly to blame for this. Usually everything they ask for ends up falling somewhere between "counter-productive" and "bat-shit-insane". They still haven't figured out where electricity comes from past "a hole in the wall".

Its ok, the straws and making everyone pay a few cents for plastic bags offsets it.
