The historian Joseph Flavius specifically referred to Jesus' brother James in 93AD. Plato and Tacitus wrote directly about him and who did what to whom, but that's not "proof" and it isn't supposed to be.
The gospels are historically correct and verified, especially Luke. You want them to have written all that proper place, time and circumstance and just dropped in a Jesus, and that's fine.
What bothers you is the faith. There's no point to having faith if Jesus is sitting across the table from you in the flesh having a coffee.
