Bitcoin does not control the use of their symbol. It's public domain. Kucoin is an exchange. They are signifying that kucoin can hold your bitcoin in a wallet. The use of the bitcoin symbol is not an endorsement.

it all has to do with what 2 entities are willing to buy and sell for. If you look at the current order books it would take about $140M of buying to bring the price to $40k. Keep in mind this is only the standing orders, automated systems in place wouldn't show up here, and so it could be higher. All i'm saying is that if i was holding long term I would not be willing to sell for $30k, so if you wanted to buy from me you would pay more, a trade would take place, and the "current price" would be what I sold to you for.

This is the same in PMs but isn't as public, and the major players can suppress or raise the price as wanted. They can raise the price, get some pro PM stories to run, etc., then sell off some of their inventory or paper, then reverse it and run stories about PMs underperforming and how they have no use in the digital age, and they can buy back low.
