$10/hour makes it hard to keep up what we once had with prices the way they are.

(As the zoomer buys all of xis/xir’s shit on Amazon or Walmart.com and haven’t been into a mom and pop store since their parents brought them when they were young)

Boomers buy everything on Amazon - "It's just like the Sears catalog as a kid!"

Sorry for not spending 15 minutes searching for and writing down the locations of all the small stores in my area that might have what I need then another hour driving to each of them to see if they have something like what I'm looking for in stock only to find out that even if they do I'm going to end up paying nearly double price for a brand name even though its still chinese in addition to the time and money spent driving when I could instead order from a website which I know has what I'm looking for?

I agree. I hate shopping in stores. Shopping online is a 100x easier.

I have one of the last surviving snap on knives made in Oregon before they decided to say fuck Americans and employ slopes.

Also have some American made craftsman tools.

Member when Sam Walton was still alive and Wal-Mart promoted itself on carrying "made in USA" product? And then he died and now everything is from China? I member

Or remember when Walmart got caught tricking people by making things in a city named "Usa" in China? Or when they make things in another country and ship it here to be packaged and call it made in USA anyway?

[ - ] Sheitstrom 1 point 2.4 yearsMay 31, 2022 09:06:08 ago (+1/-0)

What is worse is the fact that the rules are astonishingly flexible regarding the Made in USA label. You can just print the packaging or instructions in the USA and then say it is made here, even though it is made in China. The same applies for Made in Canada.

Oh, those tricky Walton kids!

Member when the Wal-Mart Board of Directors would famously serve for compensation of $1 annually, but would then take turns buying up property around where a Wal-Mart would be built before anyone knew it was going to be Wal-mart except the board members, and selling it after the Wal-mart was built for 10x what they paid for it?

I member.

So do I, in the 1980s. I made a point of shopping there just for that reason.

America is filled with smelly taco niggers now so the whole "made in america" is crap.

It's clear that the shapeshifters started shifting the world's manufacturing to China. Their next host to all home.
