The Oxford press still owns the copyright to the King James version Bible, there have been a lot of edits over the years, the word "jew" is a relatively recent creation.

Any modern Christian church will not engage in debate over the translation they are using, because there are too many glaring inconsistencies and contradictions in the books that were canonized. Many of the different Protestant denominations arose because of differences in agreement over translations, or what to place emphasis on. Most pastors are quite deceptive to their congregations about these facts, if for no other reason than it's impossible to be both completely rational, and to base your faith on a book like KJV. Pastors will cherry pick verses from all over the Bible and weave them into one "coherent" sermon. I don't attend church for these reasons, they would simply ask me not to come back anyway. If I have to sit through one more sermon about "the harmony of the gospels" I would probably jump through a stained glass window while throwing up on my way out. Presbyterian pastors, for example, are quite emphatic that if you don't believe every word in KJV as the direct word of God then, "get out" of their church. Most people don't read the Bible for themselves anyway.
The OT is there for reference to the NT. Its like reading why something got wrong first and why its now restored. When I hear the word "Christians" I cant understand why someone would only take the OT as truth and deny the NT. If Saint Peter was chosen by God through our Lord Jesus Christ, denying Catholicism is denying God's will.
