I keep reading this same question, and I maintain it's entirely possible.

I admit, I don't know all the details. Did he live at home? Did he have to buy all his own food and rent and car insurance etc?

A kid living at home and working full time at McDonald's could have afforded the original estimate of $5k to buy all this shit in a few months.

Yeah, back in the 90's my little brother saved a substantial amount of money $2300 when he was 16. This was '98. He just didnt have a reason to spend it. It was washing dishes at a small cafe type place. It didnt take him long either.

You're missing multiplying by 2 on the weapons. Those AR's are $2000 each.

$850 + $600 + $2000 + $800 + $2000 + $800 = $7050. Give or take a few hundred, since I think those scopes might be a little cheaper, but the magazines are probably twice what you've got listed. Bump it 1200 on mags, and price per round to $0.75 (which is common nowadays), and you easily hit $8k
