How do you get rid of an ulcer?

submitted by MaryXmas to AskGoats 2.0 yearsMay 26, 2022 20:42:56 ago (+3/-2)     (AskGoats)

I thought I had food poisoning after a week of bad eating (lots of fast food). Now I am thinking I have an ulcer. Had like 7 tums (jew candy) and that helped. This is like day 3. Ideas?

H. Pylori is found in most with stomach ulcers; knock it out, and ulcers heal. Thickening the blood with vitamin K helps some. Amino acid L-Glutamine is most concentrated in the digestive lining, try supplementing with that to heal the stomach, gut lining. Body builders love L-Glutamine for its muscle recovery properties post- workout.

This^^^

Also if the significant other has it, it's contagious, and causes cancer.

Probiotics like kombucca (sp?), fermented foods, and apple cider vinegar, digestive enzymes that you can get at the grocery store, liscene, avoid plant oils, avoid carbonated beverages and yeasts, avoid antacids.

I have some home fermented cabbage that i started eating for the first time in 4 months. I must have gotten the message that my body needed it.

Do you mean licorice? That's good stuff for gut-healing. A version called DGL has the BP elevating properties of the licorice removed, which if you're using a lot, can be an unwanted consequence.

I've heard good stuff about licorice for digestion. Peppermint, too.

But no. I'm taking about fermented foods and goodies that have probiotics in them.

I'm talking about digestive enzymes from the health food section of the grocery store, but last off these until your ulcer is better or it will irritate it.

L-lysine amino acid

Plant oil irritate the stomach. Carbonation and antacids reduce the acid level in your stomach resulting in sugars and yeasts being turned into alcohols which irritate the stomach.

Also, avoid eating ingredients you can't pronounce. Chemicals in modern foods are terrible.

Self strangulation will remove the stress that is being applied to your stomach.

Of course, you have to be really serious about it, so you may want to try using rope, ladder, and a chair that you kick from under your feet.

Mastic Gum and Barberry extract or tea. Berberine is the ingredient that inactivates the bacteria if it is the cause. If it is just stress then do not eat foods that increase adrenal and pancreatic wear like too much fat, junk food or sugars and work with a stress reduction healing plan.

Antibiotics

[ - ] MaryXmas [op] 0 points 2.0 yearsMay 26, 2022 20:55:59 ago (+0/-0)

Looking to do that as a last resort. I don't want to fuck up my gut biome.

[ - ] Belrial 1 point 2.0 yearsMay 26, 2022 22:29:43 ago (+2/-1)

You already have a fucked up gut biome. H. Pylori is running roughshod over your GI tract and you're afraid to kill it because of some other flora? Wipe it out, eat a fuckton of yogurt after your body heals.

[ - ] MaryXmas [op] 0 points 2.0 yearsMay 27, 2022 13:54:51 ago (+0/-0)

I haven't had antibiotics in maybe 20 years? And I am going to mess that up because it is convenient? Hard pass.
You some sort of a shill for go-gurt?

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 2.0 yearsMay 27, 2022 22:17:30 ago (+0/-0)

No, but H. Pylori and ulcers are no fucking joke, but you do you.

[ - ] ruck_feddit -1 points 2.0 yearsMay 26, 2022 23:32:00 ago (+0/-1)

If you do have one, don't rub tea tree oil on it or anything stupid you read here or elsewhere. Antibiotics will fix it. You can always eat a dog turd or something to reestablish your gut biome. @yesiknow is right.
