Cats are pretty damn cool animals. Dogs are great animals too. But cats seem so fascinating to me. Extremely different personalities. Can be very affectionate animals. Skillfull hunters, I never have bugs, rodents, pests of any kind. Ever.
You have cat boxes. But at least you don't have a yard full of land mines. You have a box you clean every other day. No big deal. Pretty comfortable little companions.
My dog and I go to the park every day, and she poops almost exclusively at the park. I clean weekly, and I find maybe a couple of turds to pick up.
Of course I have to pick up at the park, but just sayin.
When she does poop in my yard, it's usually in the planter, which is kind of like a litter box. There's about 3 in of mulch in there, and a lot of the turds I won't see in between the plants or whatever. I do clean 'em up if I see 'em, but I think some "disappear"
Supposed to use a harness that doesn't go around their neck, not a leash like a dog. My cat just goes out in my yard and chews on grass and then comes back inside.
