Here's the same picture with a small 1:30 clip ''Schwarze Sonne'' (Black Sun) interposed in background.

The strength of that thing's neck must be ridiculous.

How old do you think it is given how long it's horns are?

[ - ] Splooge 3 points 1.9 yearsMay 19, 2022 19:53:14 ago (+3/-0)

Each "band" represents about 12-18 months' growth. Goats do not shed their horns or anything like that, so if you can count each ridge and multiply accordingly, that'll give you an approximate age.

So that goat's close to a century old? I call shennanigans.

I mean, have you seen some of the boomer goats we have here? @whitecollarcriminal is easily 125 at least.

It could be a sheep.

Can't be. Goats don't live anywhere near that long. I think 20 is pushing it.

It's an Ibex, yes they too live for 10-15 years but you don't measure its age by how many notches, but rather determination can be made based on the degree of skeletal ossification between sets of notches.

I think 20 is pushing it.

Yes
