Does anyone remember Jeff Smith, "The Frugal Gourmet"? Did anyone else get a weird gay vibe from the guy? If you did, you were right

His career hosting an NPR cooking show ended when allegations came from seven men who filed a suit against Smith, claiming he molested them when they were teens in the 1970s. There were also a dozen other men who claimed the same thing but chose not to join the lawsuit but were willing to offer testimony. In 1998, his production company settled with the plaintiff out of court, their insurance agreeing to pay an estimated $5 million dollars.

I worked all of the time in the 1990s, but I was learning to cook then (because my wife is a wretched cook) and someone gave me a paperback copy of his cookbook. I took one look at it and knew this guy was a closet fag.

I decided not to use the cookbook just for that reason. I used an enormous "Good Housekeeping" cookbook that was my mothers that I still have.

The field of cuisine seems to draw closet fags to it. I got the same vibe from Alton Brown, who's also a fag. Television is an incredible waste of time, and cooking shows are among the lowest forms of infotainment (except for Julia Child, who was charming and guileless).

I do remember him. I watched him a bit in the 90s along with Yan Can Cook and Jacques Pepin. I wonder if they’ve attacked any young boys.

Yeah he was always a bit swishy and fastidious but I never really read anything to much into it.

Janet Deen says nigger btw, if you’re shopping for a TV chef.

It seems we’re both a bit off.

I was all about Nigella Lawson until I found out she's a crypto kikette. I guess subconsciously I cannot resist khazar milkers.

Alton Brown sounds super faggy, but isn't he married [to a woman], with a bunch of cute little white kids?

I find the effort laudible. Better than prancing around with massive dildoes with children in 'pride' parades.

The 60s still had vestiges of civilization holding on, as it all crumbled away until we were left with the clown world we live in today. But I digress.

Alton Brown's tell was that he always behaved like a finicky queer. They often fixate on very minor details.

I had to check my cookbooks again. I do indeed have the Good Housekeeping illustrated cookbook, and I agree, the bread recipes in that are fantastic. I also have a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook that comes bound in a very handy three-ring binder. My mom's old cookbook was Mary Margaret McBride's Encyclopedia of Cooking. I came in 12 unbound volumes that were collected in a four-inch cover and binding. It was a wedding present.

Honestly I think that’s just him being a liberal.

My mom had the Better Homes binder. I think it’s still in my parents’ place.

I've never heard of it, but then I don't watch television. I used to watch the US version of "Iron Chef" because it seemed like a parody of cooking shows. You would never learn any recipes or cooking techniques because it was all haute cuisine performed by master chefs. I enjoyed watching the guest tasters fawn all over the chefs, except for a couple of condescending jews who couldn't taste dung if it was stuffed in their mouths.

The original iron chef was awesome!

The Japanese version, or the US version, the one I remember watching in the 90s? They were both pretty awesome. It reminded me of a Japanese game show, except there were no annoying cartoon graphics, no one got tortured or kicked in the nuts, and most people rooted for the underdog.

The Japanese. I didn't like the American remake.

I completely understand. Frankly, in the US version, i got really tired of the "iron chefs". Most of them were pretty full of themselves, and a little Alton Brown goes a long way.
