I always hated spring. My place would stink for a week due to a mouse dying somewhere behind the walls in the insulation layers. I even found one mummified and dead underneath some t-shirts I had gotten out of the habit of wearing.

It looks to me like there is an outlet box as you can see the tab hanging down behind the drywall. What bothers me is the shit job they did doing the cutout in the drywall. I'm not convinced the wall plate even covered the fuck up if I'm correctly seeing the faint line at the top where it rested.

They are in a box normally, but mice can chew a hole to get through it if plastic. This looks like a knockout was missing, usually not a big deal
