Havent seen much on it but know it was a conspiracy theory a few years back, but my brothers SIL got bit by a tick that made her allergic to red meat. I don't believe it was permanent. But its definitely real. Wife told me (out of the blue) she seen an article recently that said those ticks are abundant this year.

As the removal was being performed in an industrial kitchen, the parasite fell into the oven and the door was hit by a knee. A most unfortunate outcome. Paperwork has been filed with OSHA detailing the accident. There was no paperwork detailing the initial infection.
