ARO-TEK Glock 17

This post is for UncleDoug who thinks I roll with antiques only. This is a 1st gen with barrel porting matching the slide porting. The red button on the rear of the grip activates the laser on the front of the trigger guard, all micro wiring is internal. It is necessary to use a high grade electrical circuit cleaner rather than gun cleaner on frame parts. Four button batteries are located in the dead space behind the mag well in the palm swell of the grip, slip on rubber for added grip. Extensive trigger work makes this thing rip with next to zero recoil. Built in 1986 with a sticker of $1,750.

It's fucking ugly. Good thing it doesn't need to be pretty though. It's nice that Glock has all those aftermarket parts to make it more comfortable to use. Shame they didn't just fucking give you ergonomics, but hey it slings lead.

This was built prior to any real aftermarket parts being available. The barrel and slide are factory parts, just worked over by Aro-Tek.

I wouldn't touch the finish, this is a collectable already. In the future, the value will be much more in original condition over a refinished slide.

I’m not so sure. There is nothing original about this piece, and there are very few like it on the market to judge against. But it isn’t necessary and I probably won’t do it in the end, and for that matter and in that case, it might be better left alone.

The problem with lasers is they can be distracting and often not visible when you need them. Our special ops guys tried them but went back to instinct shooting, more reliable when shtf.

Really don't recommend ported pistols for general carry. Target shooting, maybe; but this adds just another element of potential danger.
