I think the entire phenomenon of the 'Intellectual Dark Web' was the example in North America - though a few among them became famous globally.

1. Notice the timing of the rise of the IDW, in lockstep with the controversial Trump presidency, and it peaked during that time. At roughly the same time, you had figures like Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro who both went 'viral' overnight because of free speech displays that were captured on film - both of whom were standing up to 'snowflakes'.
