I don't think it's going to be much longer before Tesla owners suddenly are hit with huge excess electricity bills that make their cars not much less expensive to drive than gasoline cars. Already you're seeing complaints among Tesla owners of the charges that they're having at their supercharging stations when they travel. And remember Tesla's when they were first sold in the very beginning the model s came with free charging for life. That frankly was one of the big things that caught my eye and if I'd been in the market for a new car I would have purchased one simply because you could have driven it for free for the rest of your life. Now that Tesla owners are going to have to be paying ever increasing charging bills the only real advantage to a Tesla over gasoline car is going to be better acceleration and autopilot. So that means Tesla's are really sports cars rather than economy cars at that point or their self-driving chauffeur vehicles neither of which are especially appealing to those interested in green eco stuff.

This can't be by design or anything. Why would anyone in charge ever push for unstable supplies of something while increasing the demand for it?
