The problem with using biometrics like this...is if the data gets compromised, you're fucked, because while you can get issued a new credit card number, you can't get a new palm.

And prints can be fooled

(Inkjet paper acetate sheets (think overhead projector) is all you need btw)

Another problem is that it is always with you.

When the police want access to your phone and it has a password, they have to brute force or hack it because you are not obligated to tell them (or just forgot what it was).

If the access method is your fingerprint or faceid or whatever, they just take the phone (legal evidence) and your finger/face (not illegal) and they have just unlocked it.

For something like an iris scan, I would bet the courts would find "prying your eyelid open by force" to be non-self-incriminating.

Stay away from any means of security that does not reside inside your brain.
