there was an interesting experiment done with mice (mouses?) back in the day, where the mice lived in an utopia with all the food... but when population density got too high, most mice turned gay or became solitary..
I live in a city, and I'm definitely a city dweller.
City people don't put up with shit, tend to have a lower threshold for bullshit and generally can spot bullshit fast.
Being in a city also requires you to set standards for the people you interact with.
The culture is different, and can come across as shitty to those that don't understand.
One of the big things in London for example is in relation to food. You feed yourself.
So if you go to a friend's house, you don't expect food, and are not expected to feed people who come over.
This caused my Mediterranean wife much confusion as every time she tried to feed people they would thank her but refuse.
There are plenty of ways in which city dwellers show more empathy and friendliness than rural folk, but you might still find them coming across as guarded, and that just means they are still not 100% sure that you're not a nutter or a scammer
Possibly it's because city folk are more competitive than us in the rural heartland and competitiveness tends to bring out the worst in people. You see...city folk engage in different activities than us in the forests and deserts. Their activities tend to be people-centric e.g. dining out, going to the theatre, art exhibitions, shows etc and it's this close contact with others that brings to the fore issues such as fashion, income, education etc because these folk talk a lot to each other and there's much scope for resentfulness, snobbery etc. Us rural folk on the other hand tend to engage in more solitary activities where we are not always comparing ourselves to someone else i.e. competing and thus we tend to be nicer people except for... and ....

Cities make them sick. They act unnatural. Everything there is polluted to the very atoms of the air they breathe and the water they drink. And then of course, there is that 'divershitty' thing also.
I was in Seattle a few years back and was waiting in my car in an area where I could see highway 405. Hundreds of people driving by a minute. After sitting there for a half hour I probably saw five to six thousand people drive by.
It would be impossible for all these people to know each other. Out of the thousands that drove by, there's a good chance NONE knew each other. With the homeless literally ever in Seattle sleeping on the sidewalks. I came to a realization, if I was alone in Seattle walking down the street and tripped over a curb causing me to hit my head and pass out, I could lay there for hours bleeding out and absolutely nobody would have any reason to stop and help me. People would step over me or around me.
Life has no value in the big city and I think the people who live in those places realize this, even if it's subconsciously. You are nothing and nobody in those places, this is probably why people dye their hair, cut off their dicks, go on shooting rampages, whatever. The infinite sadness of knowing that nobody really gives a shit about you or anyone else, how else could there be so many homeless.
I live in a relatively small town, if I fell over and knocked myself on a sidewalk somewhere, not a single person would walk or drive by without stopping to help. Not one. Life has value in small towns, it's worth nothing in big cities.
Hundreds of years ago as cities first grew, people starting getting sick and it took them a long time to figure out that shitting upstream in the river wasn't a good idea. I think cities have grown so large that we are witnessing a modern phenomenon of a new yet unsolved disease of the mind that is spreading through the people in these cities. Nobody but nobody cuts off their dick without some sort of disease of the mind, it's just not possible.
To a city person everything is a commodity, even friends. Everything can be bought, everything can be replaced. Everything is temporary.
The country person has to be a craftsman. Things are mostly permanent. You can't just find new friends, they aren't any people you don't know. You have to have relationships with everyone, services that aren't available you have to do yourself. Quality has value, because you can't necessarily just replace things or move on. You are able to form deep relationships because you know people well enough that social signaling and fakery just don't play.
To the merchant quality has no value. Only novelty has value. Only scarcity. He can't form deep relationships because he never gets to know anyone well, he never knows if someone is lying. People are things to be used to gain advantage, or as a source of passing hedonistic pleasure nothing more.
This is why city people are universally vile, sad, shallow people.
I hate city people! They are low life, scumbags who will rip you off at any chance. They fucking throw their trash everywhere and claim they are "environmentos". They are lying, cheating, criminals.
Plenty of two timing sleazy people in rural areas. It's not like it's localized to the just cities. The difference with cities is that there are a lot more people to run into versus out in the middle nowhere.
Plus it depends what part of the country you are in or what side of town or neighborhood.
I grew up in the woods. My dad was an architect. He would design a house, build it in the middle of no where. Once it was done, we moved again. About every three years we moved to some other backwater. It made me want to live in a city. Became an adult, lived in high rise condos for a few decades. Now here I am in my 50’s living in a place that pumps it’s water via windmill and I can’t get a pizza delivered. Dad was right.
There's too many fuckin' people, and they suck too much. It's really aggravating even to a kind hearted person like myself. People become this obstacle to actually doing anything you want to do. jews encourage this with immigration. Wave after wave when there's already too many fuckin' people.
I think a part of it is that generally there no negative repercussions for shitty behavior.
For example. If you were a part of a small farming community. You will probably need help from time to, so it's in a person's best interest to have a good relationship with your neighbors. As outside help might not be feasible for awhile. In this way, the selective pressures of the environment force a person to be a pleasant individual in order to survive unexpected hardship.
In the city though, the inverse happens. There are soooooo many people, and so many different services that the only real hardship one deals with, tends to be with dealing with people. Everyone wants to get something extra then the person beside them. If for example a person dropped their wallet, chances are that people will not give it back, as it is money in their pocket now from someone that will never know, that they will never meet. Its shitty behavior, but no repercussion.
Not exactly sure how it would be fixed overall. Ideally groups of people would be maintained around a level of 150 people. Just enough people that the skills of all help the community, but not so big that the people involved appear as just another blob. People need time to establish a connection with others to treat them like a friend.
A friend once said "in the city you have breadth of connections, in towns and rural areas you have depth of connections." It explains a lot. In a city you can go to infinity bars, get kicked out of them all, never see any of those people again, and do it every single week. Do that in a small town and you'll be drinking alone forever.
OTOH, people you get along with in cities are "single-serving friends".There's no incentive to form a sense of community or abide by standards of decency becuase the players in the game are reset every time you play it. None of them know how you're going to play. Depth vs. breadth. City people are assholes.
I live outside the big city in the country, and have to venture into the big city, often downtown, for my job. Fuck yeah they fucking suck. I hate them. Too many niggers, pajeets, and mexicans in the city too. They all drive like grade A professional retards and act like oblivious fucking cows with no situational awareness. The rich city people are the worst though. Thinking they'll all cool living in their overpriced commie blocs and driving their mercedes or porsche SUVs like asshole retards. I can vent all day about city fuckheads.
This is most common with people that don't expect anybody to keep their word. In large cities things don't fall apart if a person doesn't show up. More then enough people to replace them. This creates a low necessity to keep their word, and many would rather not feel out of place by refusing, so they make empty promises.
take self interest to stunning heights
Cities are far higher on the competitive side. If you don't take care of number one somebody ends up fucking you over. It's not a good system, but that's why some people call it a concrete jungle.

I spent my time in a minor big city. They're crappy and warp your mind. If you find that big city person again preach how keeping your word is the foundation of society in the country side and he better not cross the line again.
All organisms compete for resources. If you concentrate a vast multitude of similar competitors into a small area, the benfit from overvaluing self interest seems to outweigh the benefit from cooperativity.
Objectively speaking, rural folks cooperate because they have to in order to survive in the face of the forces of nature. City folk have an over abundance of human resources so survival does not depend so much on mutual success; and in fact, it seems survival in the city may even be more dependent on the failure of others.
The paradigm of mutual success netting the greatest benefit to all parties predominates in a low population density environment whereas success in a high population density environment favors those that value individual self interest over the mutually benificial interest. And if one is to extrapolate these behaviors, it would be more logical to conclude that the high population density strategy is not sustainable. It relies on the mercantile localization of outlying, provincial resources and would collapse if the supply line was disrupted.
And if the rural parts were cut off from the city, you would run out of money in a week and wouldn't even have enough cash to carry out basic road maintenance.
It's a well documented phenomenon. Population density is a large factor. Air pollution, noise, lack of greenery, etc all contribute. Higher rates of depression, anxiety, psychosis, etc.
City dwellers had a reputation for being assholes before there were a lot of shitskins in white cities. So I think it's both. It's gotten worse. I mean I guess there are usually a lot of immigrants running around cities, but they were white immigrants at some point?
And all my diverse neighbours in my building are just dandy. Except for the beaner assholes upstairs that play loud music 24/7, the shitskin family stinking out the hallway with their poo-curry cooking, the 250lb tranny always asking for a buck and the scary tattooed couple that i'm sure are dealing fentanyl on the second floor.
It's not so much how close they are to jews, as how much control jews have over their environment. A jew can be a thousand miles away and still fuck a city up.
You can get his manifesto by googling Industrial Society and Its Future.
Uncle Ted is the oldest one I've seen that identified how Leftists aren't rebels but just conforming to a different society than what America is (well, different than what the USA used to be, he wrote it 30+ years ago now). It seemed a crazy accusation at the time I read it, but I just hadn't realized that he was actually right.
24. Psychologists use the term “socialization” to designate the process by which children are trained to think and act as society demands. A person is said to be well socialized if he believes in and obeys the moral code of his society and fits in well as a functioning part of that society. It may seem senseless to say that many leftists are over-socialized, since the leftist is perceived as a rebel. Nevertheless, the position can be defended. Many leftists are not such rebels as they seem. 25. The moral code of our society is so demanding that no one can think, feel and act in a completely moral way. For example, we are not supposed to hate anyone, yet almost everyone hates somebody at some time or other, whether he admits it to himself or not. Some people are so highly socialized that the attempt to think, feel and act morally imposes a severe burden on them. In order to avoid feelings of guilt, they continually have to deceive themselves about their own motives and find moral explanations for feelings and actions that in reality have a nonmoral origin. We use the term “oversocialized” to describe such people. 26. Oversocialization can lead to low self-esteem, a sense of powerlessness, defeatism, guilt, etc. One of the most important means by which our society socializes children is by making them feel ashamed of behavior or speech that is contrary to society’s expectations. If this is overdone, or if a particular child is especially susceptible to such feelings, he ends by feeling ashamed of HIMSELF. Moreover the thought and the behavior of the oversocialized person are more restricted by society’s expectationsthan are those of the lightly socialized person. The majority of people engage in a significant amount of naughty behavior. They lie, they commit petty thefts, they break traffic laws, they goof off at work, they hate someone, they say spiteful things or they use some underhanded trick to get ahead of the other guy. The oversocialized person cannot do these things, or if he does do them he generates in himself a sense of shame and self-hatred. The oversocialized person cannot even experience, without guilt, thoughts or feelings that are contrary to the accepted morality; he cannot think “unclean” thoughts. And socialization is not just a matter of morality; we are socialized to conform to many norms of behavior that do not fall under the heading of morality. Thus the oversocialized person is kept on a psychological leash and spends his life running on rails that society has laid down for him. In many over socialized people this results in a sense of constraint and powerlessness that can be a severe hardship. We suggest that oversocialization is among the more serious cruelties that human being inflict on one another. 27. We argue that a very important and influential segment of the modern left is oversocialized and that their oversocialization is of great importance in determining the direction of modern leftism. Leftists of the oversocialized type tend to be intellectuals or members of the upper-middle class. Notice that university intellectuals constitute the most highly socialized segment of our society and also the most leftwing segment.
It then goes on to describe specific examples of how this plays out with regards to leftist causes, and why it results in more leftist violence. He seemed to accurately predict that the leftists would turn into moralizing authoritarians back when it was completely unthinkable and there was (basically) no sign of it in public.

Most city dwellers have no idea what it is like to live in a high-trust, cohesive society.

I don't even carry keys unless I'm driving, in which case the keyring has exactly 1 key on it.
