It may have really been over a drug debt. I mean, it is completely possible that this guy was a compulsive, aggressive masturbator (“gunner” in jail parlance), but a lot of cons use the pedophile angle to justify their murders because they know it will gain them empathy/sympathy. It is sociopathic virtue signaling. Once he kills the guy, he’s not alive to refute the accusations.

As to the case of the dead scumbag. It was a homeless encampment and the officers involved interviewed the other homeless people and it matched what Mexico admitted to.
