I think she sees it as stylistic in a theatrical sense. She's basically a narcissistic wannabe thespian. But in that regard she is a one trick pony, basically having the shtick you already noticed, and so never made it. That doesn't mean that they won't wheel her out to sell the idea of a Ministry of Truth as popular to this leftist segment that is novelty addicted and has zero taste. She can meet those requirements.

People will get sick of her fast. That is if anything a bonus. Then they can hide her away and this Ministry of Truth will mostly be faceless, boring, and not worthy of airtime.
