The Donbass is and was Ukrainian territory. If they decided to shell their own territory it's none of Russia's business. I think that the shelling in the Donbass was preceded by Putin annexing Crimea. I guess you do not think that is aggressive? Russia has been angling to take everything east of the Dnieper with a land bridge to Crimea and more territory on the Black Sea as well as a link to Tranestria.

Hitler wanted to protect ethnic Germans that lived in land stolen from Germany after WWI. The ethnic Germans were being targeted for attacks and killings by Poles who's government was actively conspiring with the Brits and French to provoke Germany to invade. Stalin also had plans to expand west and without the buffer of Poland, which would have inevitably fell to the Soviets, would have allowed the Soviet army to prepare for an invasion of Germany right at Germany's border. Hitler's actions were justified.
