Any drummer worth their salt learns all they can about drummer Vinny Appice. I always envision that moment in time when older brother Carmine moves out of the house in Brooklyn, then little Vinny says "mom I'm gonna learn to pay the drums". That look on mom's face! Dio (upstate NY Italian guy) with the voice of the gods that we were blessed with all too briefly.

I saw early Dio photos of when he was doing Doo Wop stuff, he had a long career for sure. Just something about a creative/talented soul having "more left in the creative tank", when illness comes along and puts an end to all possibilities.
