Get stronger fine, but boxing is for idiots. It gives concussions which bring brain damage which brings poor impulse control and other problems. Don't allow your kids to box!
If you want them to be able to fight, have then learn the grappling arts which are more effective and less likely to give brain injury while practicing.

I think you should have some sort of striking/standup training too. Wrestling won’t help if there’s 2 or 3. Solid standup can at least defend yourself in a retreat. Also though, start carrying.
