No. Not at all. It just happens to be that the biggest factor favoring monogamy and other conservative economic behaviors was historically cold winters. Cold winters have tended to kill off people with more opportunistic reproductive strategies like high promiscuity violence and theft among males. I don’t think this will be the case going forward since weve largely eliminated the “problem” of bastards with no dad dying of cold and starvation in winter.

But there is clearly a signal for higher levels of cooperativity, lower wealth disparity, higher work ethic and IQ and higher egalitarianism in cold climates.

The point is to understand the mechanisms of evolution: which genetic traits thrive in which populations due to which environmental factors. These are fairly deterministic systems.

I generally define the two extremes of this continuum of economic strategy to be opportunists and conservatives. At the extremes you see northern europeans and north east asians on one end and SS Africans and Australoids at the other end. Latitude would seem to be a major controlling variable of economic strategy.

But I guess this also shows that unrelated populations can evolutionarily converge as whites and chinks have to some extent. The high IQs in these two populations and lack of generally savagery may have evolved independently in separate cold regions.
