Elon is to tech what a producer is to a modern song. People want to tout Elon as some eccentric genius (and to that end, naming his company Tesla is fantastic irony). The fact is he is a very competent hype generator, investment seeker and organizer.

The work he is doing is much more analogous to Edison; in fact he is very much like Edison. Hence, the irony of associating himself with Tesla. But, you'll note this is proof of the earlier claim, because which of these figures does the public tend to treat him more like? Tesla, of course. They'd rather not see that Musk has invented nothing on his own, but has swept in and bought out companies, terminated their actual leadership and creatives, and more bombastically marketed himself after he's done that so it would all come to be associated with him. He's also a master of leveraging companies on debt financing, which is precisely how he is acquiring Twitter (he'd better hope Tesla stock doesn't drop 40%).

He is currently going to be playing the same role as Trump did in 2016, which is to give the collective Right a boner for a while, before the next inevitable shift back to the Left. Then back to the Right. So on and so forth. Give and take. Cat and mouse.

Meanwhile, you don't realize that you're perpetually (as a conservative) celebrating 'victories' that are actually losses, since free speech is a right that shouldn't require defending anywhere in this country. Yet they'll cheer because daddy Elon is going to provide it for them on his website - look at the important fact: you're subconsciously coming to associate human rights with digital spaces, increasingly seeing your humanity as part of a digital compartment. Consider how narrow that domain is, but they'll make these lab mice believe it is a win.

Please make no fucking mistake that the red and blue politics are a cover; if you want to think like an elite person, remove the political clothing and 'rights talk'. They think economically. Musk is still very much a public spear tip in terms of creating a digital system of human and information control, and he really doesn't even hide this. They count on you making him what you want him to be.

He is unapologetically a globalist and trans-humanist who desires for man and machine to become indistinguishable. He pushed the Covid narrative and said that the Covid vaccine science was 'unequivocal' (that they're legitimate and effective). If you need more than that to know you shouldn't trust this person, you're as good as dead.

One bit of trouble you're going to have with Elon that's a little unique compared to Trump is that Elon is popular with younger men in a way Trump was not. Trump was still much, much older, and has been a kind of comedic heel in the public eye for decades. Elon is everything Trump was and more, with the added factor of being young, and being associated with the leading edge of technology.

A lot of conservative men 40 and under are going to be fanboys of Musk in a way they weren't toward Trump.

And don't even get me started on the 'science' behind both his Neuralink claims and all of his Mars talk (just complete world-of-tomorrow manipulation).

Did you notice in the title how I used the word "Speculation"? Defined as: the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.
This means that his actions could end up being completely contrary to the claims I made in which case, that would make me incorrect.
Consensus implies there are many people who agree with me, but the purpose of the post was to spark debate and conversation. not to make claims. To my knowledge, there is no consensus on this yet.

I'd say 80% of gun wielding Americans if not more would relinquish them as soon as the government actually puts pressure on them. Ex. Threatening jail time, loss of jobs, frozen bank accounts, etc.
After that, it's just a matter of finding the ones that didn't relinquish, tracking them down, and arresting them one by one over the next several years. They'll learn your schedules and raid you when you're sleeping or least expecting it.
Just remember, most people talk, few act.
