Once upon a time, a kid would get caught up to shifties by a cop, cop a foot in the arse, and told to fuck off and dont come back. if they whined to dad, theyd get another foot up the arse and told to never do that shit again.

that being said

once upon a time kids would take a shortcut through the back end of a coke factory to their fishing spot, and pinch a bottle of coke each for the day, and run like fuck if they got heard (true story, Geelong plant, Victoria, not me, people older than me ive worked with). Now kids will steal a fucking ute, flatten a fence, load it up, fuck off, burn the car out and sell the shit.

bonus true story - melbournians might know the ring road maccas, others might not, large freeway, big ass maccas connected to a petrol station with a long drive thru. Midsummer, 30ish day, im sitting in drive through, at the time, last car. Other side of nature strip, coke truck pulls up delivering bottles to petrol station. loads up his trolley, walks toward shop just as another car pulls in behind me.

we move up once and im seeing bobbleheads in my rear vision mirror, then notice the driver get out, shoot over to the coke truck, lift two of them plastic packs of dunno what size bottle... 600ml is it? and jump back into the car again.
