Finished Garden Box pics with some answers to questions

submitted by OriginalGoat to Woodworking 2 yearsApr 24, 2022 12:05:06 ago (+24/-0)     (Woodworking)

First off, thanks to the Goat who suggested I run a circular saw through my mitres to clean them up it worked great. Also, this is a garden box for my daughter to learn to grow with, it's not for anything spectacular I just want her to keep a small garden practice with.

I lined it with felt garden liner so that the roots can breathe. I just put some weather proof finish on it.

Nice work. Love to see people passing actual skills on to the next generation.

Nice. What I would recommend is to put pond liner under the cloth to protect the wood. I used galvanized hardware cloth on the bottom and cut drainage holes

I’ll ask again, what kind of wood is that?

Oh it's just pine, I used rough barn board, it'll bow out eventually but she'll need a bigger garden by then anyway.

I thought it might be pine. That’s cool, it’ll work.👍

Wow, I think that is awesome! And for a functional reason as well.

If you plan on posting more stuff, maybe take a few pictures during the build process. I like seeing the unfinished version as well.
