What if I believe my role w/in the universe is to burn as hot and hard as possible. To run an engine so lean and hot that it burns itself out, but produces the maximum potential.

The light that burns twice as bright.

What if I believe my role in life is to burn as lean and hot and inevitably die. Intentionally.

Is that degenerate? My goal would be to produce as much as fast as possible and the devile take the hindmost.

That seems a bit ‘r’ strategy for my taste.

But it isn't a genetic strategy. My goals aren't genetic. On it's face it isn't. I stated the inevitable reality was early death. And that it was faced w full knowledge going in.

And then if I have decided this is, is this degenerate? I've set a goal that I deem so worthy that I'll burn myself to the ground in it's pursuit. Is that degenerate?

But it isn't a genetic strategy.
Isn’t it? You might not be conscious of the evolutionary incentives of your behavior or their ramifications. But they exist.

is this degenerate?
I can’t know unless I know what your goals are. Maybe you are an altruist sacrificing yourself for the group? I don’t know. But just on its face, your desire to burn as hard and hot as possible is consistent with r strategy, which could be degenerate since the whole strategy of whites is a more economically conservative one.

I guess consider it a philosophical question. I don't really expect an answer.

Same here. I wasn’t really expecting you to tell me how you will burn hot and hard until you extinguish yourself. Ill just wait for the news story. ;-P

All the old school tuners say "lean is mean"...

You are not living in the present. You work to be virtuous in the present moment. There is no future, or past. Live and die and be at peace with those things that are not in your control.
If you die a fast death, then that is what God wills and is nothing of your concern.

Whenever you play another man's game, you do so by his rules, and by doing so, you willingly accept the odds to favor him. Morals and ethics are another man's game, framed by another's rules.

Defined as 'Ethics or moral philosophy is a branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior". The question then becomes who gets to choose for you what is right and what is wrong? Whose morals and ethics do you choose to bind yourself with? The Stoics? Confucian? Jew? Buddhist? Kantian? Feminist? Who gets qualified to define degeneracy for you?

I have a lot to say on this subject. I think that morals are largely determined by genes. They are instincts that tell us fuck/don’t fuck this person, steal/don’t steal this object, share/don’t share this resource, etc. There are thousands of genes that inform these decisions and their interplay is complex, but don’t kid yourself that this is free will. There is a lot of variability of these genes between individuals in a society and between societies.

But the moral regime of a society is determined by the average of the frequencies of these genes. In Japan you have a lot of people with genes that predispose people to humility and self-restraint, and austere interior decor. Japanese culture and values and norms didn’t just happen to Japan by accident. They are gene based and they evolved over time. Japanese people were selected for these traits over time because it made them economically successful in the evolutionary niche of rice farmers of Japan.

Morals develop in a group of related people because they lead to economic and ultimately reproductive success. They are a set of ground rules that allow us to cooperate economically. Forming a society means enjoying the benefits of the group like charity or improved efficiency, but also sharing the burden of others bad choices. There can be no cooperation without groundrules regulating sex, violence, deception, theft, productivity. And there must be broad agreement as to how much regulation will occur. Generally, stricter rules lead to improved economic performance of the group. Related peoples who lived in the same environment for millenia with little admixture from other groups develop broad agreeement morally because there is broad genetic agreement. Agrarians of northern europe developed similar economic strategies and the genes to match. Any outliers where forced to get in line or eliminated from the ‘body’. Culture moderates such genetic outliers with morals. We can say its what Jesus wants or the Buddha, or Betty Friedan. It doesn’t matter. Jews disproportionately drive this cultural voice because they have developed a specialized niche to exploit other groups through cultural disinformation. Another subject for another discussion.
This is why its impossible to form a community from different groups of people who diverged tens of thousands of years ago. It creates cultural (moral, economic) chaos.

In order to have a functional stable society you need some genetic homogeneity and you need to regulate shit like sex. Who you fuck and how many people you fuck and in which ways you fuck them is everybody’s business. It affects everybody. In order to have a conservative society that’s highly productive with low violence and low corruption and theft you must start with monogamy. You can’t have any of those good things without monogamy. All places where polygamy is widely practiced you have crime, corruption, and massive power disparities. And low productivity. Always.

Form your loosey goosey society. But do it with other loosey gooseys. The strict moralists are generally the ones that are the most efficient and the pleasure seekers build shitty societies. Morals are economic.

Women are automatically unfit for stoicism

Youre ruled by your cycles and your emotions

[ - ] PostWallHelena [op] 1 point 2 yearsApr 23, 2022 19:58:12 ago (+1/-0)

Male feelies aren’t feelies.

Wars aren’t driven by male emotions? The porn industry isn’t driven by male emotions? The corporate greed of wall street? Male ambition isn’t about male feelies? How about old fools like Scott Adams marrying some 30 year old thot? They’re just a different set of emotions.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 2 yearsApr 23, 2022 22:00:08 ago (+0/-0)

They aren't the emotions of a stoic.

[ - ] diggernicks 0 points 2 yearsApr 24, 2022 18:38:11 ago (+0/-0)

The porn industry is driven by female greed and the need for attention as much as men's emotions

[ - ] PostWallHelena [op] 0 points 2 yearsApr 25, 2022 02:36:26 ago (+0/-0)

Lol. Stop looking at it then.

The stoics recommend moderation.
