Russia has figured out two things:

1. Nazis are acceptable receptacles for the human need to hate an outgroup.

2. The terms has been transformed into a generic prerogative by overzealous application.

So the Russians are calling anyone or anything they attack nazi, and the mainstream is calling them nazis for their attacks.

They are taking a page right out of American cuckservatism here, thinking that maybe the word would lose its grounding entirely and become just a playground insult like mother fucker if we saw both sides of a dispute calling each other nazis as they fight.
