I wonder how many normal buses explode and we never hear about it because "it's normal"?

Well, I wen't down this rabbit hole, and I found out that it really doesn't matter. A bus fire is entertaining regardless.

It doesn't look like gasoline (petrol), more like a LNG type. "Cleaner" energy, and as the LNG boils off it pressurizes any volume it finds, and then forms an escape when it burns through.

I agree it looks more like an LP torch than gasoline. My question is why do they store it in the roof? I've never heard of that.

Not sure exactly where the LNG is stored, but I would guess it is down low, with the piping to the engine running in the unused spaces and maybe the roof area.

If a pipe burst, I would guess the frame and roof of the bus are self contained and the gasses get boiled off to that area, and then burst out.

I would think a full day of bus routes would store a lot of LNG, making the fire last a long time and pressurize a lot of the piping compartments.

Hmm. Although I recognize this is not a battery fire, I wonder if a subsonic 22 would pierce a rooftop lithium battery on one of these busses at 100 yards.

Anyone know anything about those busses and batteries?

I remember when an LP bus blew up at my old college. I wasn't attending at the time but I saw the videos. Blew up right outside the science building.
