Really interesting approach to the 40 hr work week at a new job. It would be cool if a lot of people did this.

I've never seen that before. Is it common? I think I'll like it.

I worked repairing watches some years ago. They did this during the summer. It's really nice, but I'd prefer a year round work week of four tens with three days off.

Sounds like most doctors offices. Except if you maybe start 1 hr later and quit at noon on Friday

I worked at a place one time where we worked four 9s and 8 on Friday and the next week we worked 4 9s and took Friday off. Every other weekend was a 3 day weekend.

We have options for alternative work schedules (AWS) where I work.

We have something called a 5-4-9 where you work 9 hours a day for 4 days a week. Then one day a week is a short day, so you work 8 hours. One day the following week is an off day. For a while, I had every other Friday off, which was nice.

When I worked retail mgmt in the 90s, the choice was 5 10's or 6 8's.

I've worked a variety of schedules. I did four 10s at one job. I did 6pm-6am at the data center(3 days on/3 off, 4 on/4 off and then back to the beginning). They are a mixed bag. Some good some bad. The data center schedule was nice once you got used to it.

That looks pretty alright to me. M-Th isn't too long and a short Fri. Seems cool

I've done 4 10s before and that was great. This seems like it will be cool too. The thing with 4 10s is that 10 hours can be a long day sometimes, but 8.5 shouldn't ever feel that way.

I've done 4 10s before. It was nice. This seems nice too. I imagine they just can't do 4 10's for some reason or else they would. One way this is better is that 10hr can be a long day. I don't think 8.5 will ever feel that way.
