Got my brother a gym membership for Christmas

In a funk and having let himself go (a little), I wanted to give the gift of self-improvement and health. Six months in and we're going strong. It has brought us closer and is preparing us for the hardships to come.

Socrates said that no man has a right to be an amateur in the realm of physical training. That to die without witnessing the true potential of your physical form is beyond tragedy.

Could you lift yourself over a ledge?
Can you carry a loved one 50 yards?
How about running a mile with 40lb of kit?

Take care of those near to you, lift them up and help them ready themselves.
Prepare. The time to win your battles is before they begin.

Just turned 70, still excersize 3-4 times a week. Now I live on the fringe of hurricanes and tornadoes. I don't want to end up on the news, sitting on my fat ass waiting for someone to risk their life to come and rescue me. It also makes day to day life alot easier to be able to walk long distances or move heavy things on your own.

If you can't take care of yourself don't expect others to do it for you. I remember that footage from Sept 11 of this fat fuck taking a sitdown on the curb as the wall of debris flew through the street as the tower fell and the fatfuck looking at everyone running by like 'no one's going to help me??' I hope he died.

That's awesome you guys train together. Im an older guy , train solo for many years. I'm highly motivated , but having a partner to stoke your fire when you're just tired or dragging ass is really beneficial.
