The Marcion bible. It was the first Christian bible, presented in 144 AD. This is how the Web site below describes it:

"The first Christian bible consists of The Gospel of the Lord as preached by Paul the Apostle and referenced by him with the phrase "my gospel" on three occasions as found in the original Epistles of Paul. Within the Epistles are: Galatians, 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Romans, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, Laodiceans, Colossians, Philemon and Philippians. That is the entirety of the first Christian bible as it was gathered and transcribed in 144 A.D. and as it is now. It has never been changed or altered in any way and it never contained a 'Hebrew bible' (Old Testament)."

Edit: Got a downvote. Must have touched a nerve with someone.

It was the first Christian bible
implies that there were bibles before this one... and they weren't Christian... So, what where they exactly? Hmmm...

You're a troll who only posts or comments to be contentious. Your behavior is divisive and does not contribute to the board. I won't argue with you.

Notice how you don't answer the question? You just divert and insult. Why won't you just answer the question rabbi?

The answer is that his choice of words carried none of the hidden implications you are reading into them.

@HughBriss said the Macron Bible was the first Christian Bible. So, there can't be any Christian Bibles before that. I suggest the two of you hash it out and then get back to me and we can continue this discussion.

In each of these, god commands the ritualistic mutilation of newborns. Is that the correct path we should follow??

So what? I'm not talking about the new covenant. I'm talking about when he required it. If I used to murder babies, then said never mind, that was a bad idea... would you trust me?

God wants you to have a circumcised heart more than having your dick circumcised.

[ - ] Flabbygasted 0 points 2 yearsApr 18, 2022 11:58:55 ago (+2/-2)

So that negates god wanting to mutilate and sacrifice children? Hard to have a circumcised heart whenever you bleed out on the ritual slab.

Christ-Cucks don't actually read the Bible. The correct version is whatever the fuck they want it to be.

That I agree with, religions are often the product of the general consensus among their communities, not some holy book.

Get you a 100+ year old Catholic bible. That's as close as you are going to find without breaking the bank

Reading the original scrolls is best.

The Ethiopian Bible is the oldest. It still has The Book of Enoch in it along with The Apocrypha. Catholic scum got together and butchered the expected books giving us our now 66 book Bible. Not to mention mistranslations of words.

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 0 points 2 yearsApr 18, 2022 12:31:41 ago (+2/-2)

depending on what you mean by apocrypha, it was the protestants that removed those books while the Catholics kept them.

List of apocryphal Catholic books that Protestants do not accept:

Tobit
Judith
Additional chapters of Esther and Daniel
1st and 2nd Maccabees
Wisdom of Solomon
Sirach
Baruch

For those that are unaware, the development of biblical canon was a long and tortuous affair over hundreds of years. Many Greek Christian writings were considered for canonicity but were eventually rejected for being spurious, fraudulent, or just plain ridiculous, such as the epistles of Pontius Pilate and the infancy gospels of Christ. This was discussed during the second through the fifth centuries, as the early church tried to standardize an orthodox faith.

The book of John's revelation (last book in the bible) barely squeaked by because it was apocalyptic and visionary and was a start contrast to the other books. None of the early Christians claimed to experience visions. Even Martin Luther disagreed on its canonicity, although he kept it in his German translation of the bible nevertheless.

Good article from EWTN on the Catholic view of the "apocrypha" (a.k.a Deuterocanonicals):
