10-15x power consumption for "richer black and dark scenes".

Get an IPS LED or OLED screen and it will be close enough you won't notice.

No opinion. Have an old big widescreen tv that rarely gets watched. It gets turned on for 9/11 type stuff and no propaganda. Sorry man, no help here. Good luck!
