harvested my pineapple guava crop.

Only two but I'm over the moon because I didn't think there were any because the birds love the blossoms but these two monsters were growing quietly away superbly camouflaged. Unusual taste - menthol.

Feijoas are kind of a running joke in NZ. Eveyone has way more fruit than they can get rid of this time of year, every year. Lucky to get a dollar for 5 Kgs.
I love em though, can make some awesome brews with it too.

Btw paul, pruning them well will easily tripple your yield. Cut branches growing vertically, fruit only sets on the 45 degree angle shoots. They love being pruned heavily.

Be interesting to get your reaction. Buy one before planting though if that's what you're thinking of doing. I bought two guava trees simply because I (dumbly) thought all fruit would be nice tasting and guava sounded exotic. The fruit of one guava is sickly tasting albeit I eat it. Tree has a lovely truck so its good as an ornamental. My pineapple guava (in the pic) turned out to be a better buy but even it tastes weird imo - almost an artificial, medicinal type taste. In hindsight, if I'd tasted before purchase, I doubt I would have bought either. PS the pineapple guava has lovely flowers and leaves. Good ornamental.

I like normal guava. I'll keep my eyes peeled for pineapple guava.
