My care of what's happening in the Ukraine is pretty low. But wasn't it the practice for the US and the former USSR to have soldiers supporting the various sides and even fighting each other in places like Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc.? Isn't this just more of the same stupid practice?

Yeah no shit. But why should we expect the people waging this war to have any consideration for the priorities of rank and file americans? There oil to be stolen after all! Get peasants to pay for your awesome weapons systems and then go around stealing oil around the globe. Thats the game of the world’s most sophisticated criminals. These people cause our problems, they don’t solve them.
Ya it's funny because the spike in oil prices is what makes the shale oil extraction process (which is done in the US and Canada) profitable. We don't need their oil, there's plenty here to be had for the right price.
