I buy this stuff from my local farm & ranch supplier: https://www.qwant.com/?q=agri-mectin&client=opensearch&t=web. I add it to fruit juice and drink it. I even tried it straight once to see how bad it tasted, and highly recommend putting it in a drink.
Yes there are cheaper alternatives to buying the durvet horse product on amazon. Ive tasted the 1.8% concentration paste. Its not horrendous. They flavor it so the horse wont spit it out. But I wouldnt say I like it.
Heartworm meds for dogs might have ivermectin or it might have a similar drug called milbemycin, which might have potential as an antiviral as well.
Unfortunately the IVM dose for the canine heartworm preventitive is really low — i think 6 -12 mcg/kg per dose compared with the recommended dose for covid, which might be 200-600mcg/kg per day for 5 days or more, meaning you’d have to take like a hundred doses a day made for a medium sized dog. They make the dose really low for dogs because some dogs (collie breeds) have a mutation that makes them extremely sensitive to IVM.
I think pyrantel is a pretty mild otc drug used for pinworms in kids. But you would want to try to get the stuff without the pyrantel if you could.
Anyway the dog stuff requires a script from the vet but the horse and cattle ivm products do not, in the US anyway.
There is an injectible form you can buy for cattle which has a slightly different concentration, but its cheaper than the horsepaste and can be taken orally rather than injected. I think its 1ml = 10mg if I remember correctly. I think its a good purchase for doomsday prepping. IVM should work on a lot of different viruses.
Nice, thanks for the info. I just noticed that the heartworm box has IVERMECTIN/PYRANTEL right on the front of it. 272mcg ivermectin and 227mg pyrantel as pamoate salt, taken once a month. And it's expensive as hell for all of 6 treat "pills".

It's been awhile but IIRC the horse paste they sell at the local farmers store is an oral paste. It comes in a big-assed almost-syringe because horses are assholes and love to mess with you for a laugh, so you jam the thing in the back of their mouth and "inject" the paste where they have to swallow it.
I have like 5 of the horse thingies. I happen to know that the 6 g. horse tube with 1.87% concentration contains about 113 mg which would be maybe 3 to 6 doses for covid, depending on your body wt and how aggressive you want to dose it. It might be good to have two tubes a person. I don’t know if you even need that much considering omicron is the dominant strain. But its possible that a new more serious strain could develop (or be developed) . The FLCCC was recommending 600 mcg/kg/day which is like 40mg/day. 272mcg is 0.27mg so that is alot of dog pills.
The horse tube is 15 bucks in some places but maybe 30 bucks on amazon. Much cheaper.
...Is 50ml and 1% solution so 50ml = 50 g = 50,000mg * .01 = 500 mg of medicine which is $30 . So its a better deal than the oral horse paste but you might have to invest in a measured eye dropper for a couple extra bucks as well
