I can relate, but I think most of what you're thinking of as actual people who happen to be retards are actually bot accounts designed to make this place unbearable and drive people like you off. I don't know that there's a perfect solution to the problem unless we make an invite only version of this place, which would be an interesting project.

Something else to consider, lately, like over the past 3-4 weeks or so, I've noticed some old Goat names popping up saying they didn't even know this place existed until just now. The lack of old Goats would certainly be contributing to the dismal quality of this place. It's not just that the retard posts exist, which would be one thing...but that they aren't even balanced out by quality posts.

And then there's the fact that hopefully people are off Voat/the internet more and more and getting more involved in their local communities. Not the most terrible thing.

You'd lose gen z and despite your grievances, those little homos can be fun. I can't believe how many people use phones and tablets for the internet but I've seen it first hand. I've asked these kids, "don't you have a computer at home?" and the answer is always I've got my phone which is probably why their faces are always buried in it.

I've seen older people with just phones too but that's mostly about them being morons unwilling to learn something new and that are just content to tangibly interact on the internet. So their access is limited for what they can learn but their interaction is just mildly uncomfortable without them knowing it.
