I looked it up, turns out that most ATMs actually don't have that much cash in them on a daily basis, usually only a few thousand dollars worth, probably less in a shithole.

So it's entirely possible the interface he's carrying is worth more than the contents of the cashbox, although I doubt he could sell it for anything.

I just assumed that even a day's worth of cash would be a few hundred thousand dollars. I guess it makes sense though: Nowadays most transactions are digital so most people only use ATMs for a few things like taxis and tips where paying by card is awkward.
