If mj was legal, I believe it would be less detrimental than many of the other "legal" shit which they are already offering/ actively pushing, which in many cases is the true "gateway drug".
Personally, I believe if you want / have reasons to ingest this, your best bet is to grow manufacture yourself.
Now, obviously not everyone is in that position, and I have only been in CO to see how the "legalization" works, but it seems like a pretty good deal(for the state and the end-user), although more expensive, and why the "illicit street dealer" I suppose will always be there.
For the vast majority, they will buy there, and I do not have any issue with that. At least it is tested and normalized, much like alcohol, but less dangerous. You don't hear about people dying from ingesting too much mj, like you do with any other chemical.
Now, the fact of people becoming hop heads, I don't think that will significantly change one way or the other,but potentially it could save lives if people could have easier access to mj as opposed to fentanyl.
I don't know enough about that particular addiction, but I do know that there was very successful rates of quitting heroin in studies where they were given mj as a substitute, even as opposed to methadone, so I would suggest it is well worth investigating, which will probably never happen.
The last post I saw rom you sounded like you were in a serious emotional or mental crises, so yes, I'd expect you to defend the getting high propaganda, because I have to make the assumption that either you get high, or you like it that others do.
